The Tierney is a true community center situated right in the heart of the Old Colony Housing Development. We serve over 300 community members each week through the various family-focused programs that we offer, free of charge. The community we serve each day has an average of $17,000 for annual income. The median income is $13,000 a year so we work to bring together service providers to meet the needs of our community. We hold various programs including Doc Wayne, a youth athletics program that integrates sports and talk therapy. We also have a thriving Girl Scout Troop made up of young ladies from the community. Little grooves, which holds music classes that creates a positive learning environment for toddlers 0-5, utilizing music and interactive play. These are just a few examples of the quality programming we provide to the residents living just outside our doors.
